Rotating cannon - Kaikaihou

A large catapult made by Persian engineers during the Yuan Dynasty in China. At the time, catapult manufacturing technology in the Islamic cultural sphere was at the world's highest level, and upon learning this, Kublai Khan, the founder of the empire, invited renowned engineers such as Ala al-Din and Ismail from the Ilkhanate to work on manufacturing it. This new weapon, capable of hurling stones and explosives weighing hundreds of kilograms, proved extremely effective, especially in the siege of Xiangyang and Fancheng in the Southern Song Dynasty in 1274 (the 10th year of the Xianchun era).
