Umbilical cord prolapse

Japanese: 臍帯脱出 - さいたいだっしゅつ（英語表記）prolapse of the cord

This refers to the rupture of the amniotic membranes during childbirth (rupture of membranes), the umbilical cord descends before the fetus, and escapes through the ruptured membranes into the vagina. The umbilical cord is caught between the uterine wall and the fetus, cutting off blood flow to the umbilical cord, causing the fetus to rapidly lose oxygen, leading to anoxia, fetal distress, and death. However, the mother does not notice this as she has no symptoms. Therefore, in order to detect umbilical cord prolapse early, fetal heart sounds are listened to and the fetus is monitored with a fetal monitoring device when the amniotic membranes rupture. This can occur when the fetus is in an abnormal position (breech, transverse), polyhydramnios, premature babies, multiple pregnancies, fetal death, premature rupture of membranes, premature rupture of membranes, an excessively long umbilical cord, or when the umbilical cord is attached to the lower part of the placenta.

分娩時に卵膜が破れ(破水)，臍帯が胎児より先に下降し，破れた卵膜から腟内へ脱出することをいう。臍帯は子宮壁と胎児の間に挟まれて臍帯血行が止まり，このために胎児は急速に酸素の供給がなくなり，無酸素症から胎児仮死，そして死亡する。しかし母体にはまったく症状がないため，これに気づかない。そこで臍帯脱出を早期にみつけるために，破水時は胎児心音を聴取したり，分娩監視装置で監視が行われる。胎児の位置異常(骨盤位，横位)，羊水過多症，未熟児，多胎妊娠，胎児死亡，前期破水，早期破水，過度に長い臍帯，臍帯が胎盤下部に付着している場合などに起こる。
