Mutina

...Located in the southern part of the Po Plain along the Via Emilia, and surrounded by rich agricultural regions, the city is well-known for its agricultural processing (processed meats such as ham and sausages, and dairy products), but in recent years the manufacturing industry, including agricultural machinery and chemical fertilizers, has also developed significantly. Founded by the Etruscans, the city was called Mutina in Roman times and was already an important producer of wine, wool, and pottery. It was later devastated by barbarian invasions and floods as the Roman Empire declined.
