Neotunga euloidea (English spelling)

...The Chinese sand flea, Tunga caecigena , takes this parasitism a step further; the female buries herself in the host's ear by simply peeking out her tail, and although she starts out about 1mm long, she grows to the size of a bean and continues to suck blood and lay eggs until she dies. Other fleas that burrow into the host's tissue include the long-legged flea, Neotunga euloidea , which infests pangolins in Zimbabwe, and the long-legged flea, Vermipsylla alacuri , which infests sheep and horses in the Tianshan and Mongolia. Female sand fleas, Tunga penetrans (chigoe, sand flea), found in Africa and tropical America, are known as burrowing fleas because they burrow under the skin of animals with their powerful mouthparts before laying eggs.
