Nuraghe

Japanese: nuraghe
Nuraghe

...For example, in Puglia and Sardinia, there remain dolmens and menhirs, which are a type of megalithic culture found throughout Western Europe. The tower-like stone buildings known as nuraghe in Sardinia date back to the Bronze Age (2000-1000 BC), but they are not of Western European origin and are the same type as those found in Cyprus, Malta, and the islands of the Aegean Sea. Furthermore, the late Mycenaean civilization flowed into southern Italy, mainly in Sicily, Lipari, and Puglia, around 1400-1200 BC.

From Sardinia

…The Nuragic civilization was widespread in Sardinia during the Bronze Age. Nuraghe are defensive settlements, stone buildings without mortar or cement, of which over 6,000 remain almost intact throughout Sardinia, especially in the Sassari and Oristano regions. They date from 2000 BC to the Roman invasion, but the most numerous, with complex two- or three-storey structures, date from the 6th century BC, just before the start of the Carthaginian colonization.
