...Ikubigoke means "boar's-necked moss" and is named after the short capsule stalk and chunky capsule. In China, the genus Diphyscium is also called short-necked moss, and in English it is called ant's egg moss or nut moss. D. foliosum (Hedw.) Mohr. is widely distributed in the high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere, and in Japan it grows in the high mountains of the Chubu region.
