...All of them are native to Africa, and there are three genera and seven species, including the hartebeest Alcelaphus buselaphus , which lives in herds of 300 to 1000 individuals, the congynous hartebeest A. lichtensteini , which has a distinctive long face and short, thick horns, the topi Damaliscus lunatus , which has the habit of climbing termite mounds to watch for enemies, and the wildebeest Connochaetes taurinus , which migrates seasonally in large herds. (3) Oryxidae: Large, with long spear-shaped, saber-shaped, or corkscrew-shaped horns in both sexes, no glands on the face, and a long tail with a tuft of hair at the end. The body is white or light yellowish brown, with black or brown markings on the muzzle and around the eyes.
