Kanto Order - Kanto Gechijo

…These three styles, Shimobun, Gokyosho, and Gechijo, all in the form of hosho (letters of letters), became the main documents issued by the Kamakura Shogunate. The Gokyosho and Gechijo issued by the Shogunate were signed by both the regent and the cosigner, and were called Kanto Gokyosho and Kanto Gechijo, while those issued by the Rokuhara Tandai were signed by both the northern and southern tandai, and were called Rokuhara Gokyosho and Rokuhara Gechijo. The Muromachi Shogunate that followed also inherited these three styles, but produced the Shogunate's Gohan no Migiyosho, which was in the form of a direct letter, and the Gonaisho, which was even more of a letter-like document. Although Shimobun was used in the early days, it almost disappeared by the 15th century. …
