Born: July 8, 1892, Portsmouth, Hampshire [Died] July 27, 1962. French-British poet and novelist. Editor of the magazine Egoist (1914-17). Together with his wife H. Doolittle (pseudonym HD), he was one of the leading Imagist poets. In addition to several books of poetry, he also wrote novels about his experiences during World War I, including Death of a Hero (29) and All Men Are Enemies (33), as well as an autobiography and a biography of D.H.
