Alcott
American female writer. Daughter of the innovative educator and thinker AB Alcott (1799-1888). She began her career as a writer after working as a teacher and nurse. Many of her works are family novels that praise the spirit of democratic freedom, and her most famous works include Little Women and An Old-Fashioned Girl (1870).
