A volcano in the eastern part of the Azuma Mountain Range in northern Fukushima Prefecture. Its elevation is 1,949m. It is the only volcano among the Azuma Mountains that emits smoke. As a result, vegetation is scarce, and there are large areas of bare land around the old fumaroles at the bottom of the explosion crater and the fumaroles near Ioyama. 福島県北部，吾妻連峰東部の火山。標高 1949m。吾妻山のうちただ一つ噴煙を上げている火山。そのため植生に乏しく，特に爆裂火口底の旧噴気口や硫黄山付近の噴気口周辺は広い裸地をなす。磐梯朝日国立公園に属する。
