A democratic leader in Athens, ancient Greece, from the 4th to the early 3rd century BC. He defeated Cassander at Elateria in 305 BC, and was a de facto tyrant from 294 to 292 BC. In 287 BC, he led a revolt against the Macedonian garrison in Athens, seizing the Mouseion Hill, and later helping Demochares capture Eleusis. Olympiodorus |
