...It is also called "documentary theatre". It began when director Piscator used documentary equipment such as a projector to direct Alfons Paquet's (1881-1944) productions such as The Flag (1924) and Tsunami (1926), and used photographs and films to emphasize the factuality of the production. Later, with the development and advancement of audiovisual equipment, this directing method spread beyond left-wing theatre that emphasized sociality.
