Akiyoshi

...Population: 6,899 (1995). Located in the upper reaches of the Koto River, this mountainous rural area is home to the Akiyoshidai Quasi-National Park, known for its karst topography. The karst plains around Akiyoshidai, blessed with springs, are home to many ruins from the Yayoi period, and the remains of the ancient jori system remain in the lowlands of Kama and Akiyoshi.
