Wadomari [town] - Wadomari

Japanese: 和泊[町] - わどまり

A town in Oshima District, Kagoshima Prefecture, occupying the eastern half of Okinoerabu Island. Most of the town is low flat land, with a coral reef surrounding the coast. Transportation was previously inconvenient, but a port and airport have been developed and the town is connected to Kagoshima City. The town produces sugarcane, lilies, and pineapples, and has a sugar factory. Livestock farming is also thriving. There are many historical sites related to Saigo Takamori, who was exiled here in 1862. 40.39 ^km2 . 7,114 people (2010).

鹿児島県大島郡，沖永良部(おきのえらぶ)島の東半部を占める町。ほとんどが低い平地で，海岸はサンゴ礁に囲まれる。交通不便の地であったが，港湾・空港が整備され，鹿児島市と連絡。サトウキビ，ユリ，パイナップルを産し，製糖工場がある。畜産も盛ん。1862年この地に流された西郷隆盛ゆかりの多くの史跡がある。40.39km²。7114人（2010）。
