Aitanoho - Aitanoho

Japanese: 英多保 - あいたのほ

This ho occupied the area around Kawakita, Emi Village, Aida County, Mimasaka Province (present-day Kawakita, Sakuto Town, Aida County, Okayama Prefecture). It seems that Eida District, Aida County, became a manor. It is also sometimes called Agatanoho. In the late Heian period, it was the land of Sonshoji Temple, one of the Rokushoji Temples, and according to the entry for August 8, 1187 (Bun'ichi 3) in the Azuma Kagami, the temple family filed a lawsuit against Kajiwara Kagetoki, the Mimasaka Shugo, for compensation for miscellaneous taxes. After Kagetoki's downfall, the Ando clan entered the area as land stewards. The Ando clan settled in the area and later became a representative local clan of Tosaku, along with the Emi clan and Shibuya clan.

美作国英田（あいだ）郡江見村川北(現，岡山県英田郡作東町川北)付近一帯を占めた保。英多郡英多郷が荘園化したものらしい。〈あがたのほ〉とよむこともある。平安後期には六勝寺の一つ尊勝寺の寺領で，《吾妻鏡》文治3年(1187)8月8日条によれば，年貢雑事をめぐって，寺家は美作守護梶原景時の代官を改補しようとして訴訟をおこしている。景時の没落後，地頭として安東氏が入部した。安東氏は土着して，のちに江見氏，渋谷氏とならぶ東作の代表的国人となる。
