Military science

Japanese: 軍学 - ぐんがく

〘noun〙 A study of tactics and military tactics. From the Warring States period to the beginning of the Edo period, it moved away from the influence of the Seven Books of Chinese military science and was systematized as a uniquely Japanese study that placed emphasis on establishing a spirit that values martial arts, rather than merely physical matters. There were various schools, such as Koshu, Hojo, Yamaga, Echigo, and Kusunoki. Military science.
