Pratyaya

...is a word that expresses truth in Buddhism, specifically called 'en-gi' (cause and effect), or simply 'engi' (dependent origin). It is a unique Buddhist doctrine that sees all phenomenal things, that is, ui, as arising from the action of two types of causes: hetu (direct cause) and pratyaya (indirect cause). It is said that 'he who sees dependent origination sees the law, or truth, and he who sees the law sees dependent origination.' It is basically 'This exists, therefore that exists.
