...However, in all animals and plants, genetic DNA is contained in chromosomes, and during cell division, this group of chromosomes is enclosed in a nuclear membrane to form the so-called nucleus. This difference is reflected in the expression of genetic information within the cell, as well as the patterns of gene proliferation and recombination, and therefore the former are called prokaryotes and the latter eukaryotes, and are treated separately.
