…He then elucidated the composition of an iron-nickel-cobalt ternary alloy with almost no thermal expansion and its cause, for which he received the Imperial Academy Prize in 1956. The following year he invented the new KS steel (with Honda and Shirakawa Yuki), a permanent magnet steel superior to MK steel, and the high-permeability alloy Sendust (with Yamamoto Tatsuo), and in 1965 he invented the alloy Alfel (with Shirakawa and Kobayashi Takeo), for use in magnetostrictive oscillators, and in 1971 he received the Imperial Academy Prize for these research results.
