A military commander in the Azuchi-Momoyama period. Terumichi's second son, his mother was the daughter of the Sakenobu clan. Magojuro. He held the position of Totomi no Kami. After the Oshu War, the Onodera clan was appointed as land steward of Ogachi County in Dewa Province, and after serving as a Kyoto fuchishu (a Kyoto stipend), by 1582, during the reign of Terumichi, they had grown into a powerful warring states lord, with power centered in Ogachi County. During the reign of Yoshimichi, conflicts continued with the Mogami, Tozawa, and Akita clans. During the Oshu Shioki, the Senboku Rebellion broke out within the territory in opposition, and as a result, in 1592, one third of the clan's territory was confiscated, and 31,600 koku was awarded to Kamiura County. In 1600, during the Battle of Sekigahara and the Battle of Dewa, he sided with Uesugi Kagekatsu and confronted the Mogami clan, but was attacked by the Akita and Rokugo clans and surrendered. 安土桃山時代の武将。輝道の次男,母は鮭延氏の娘。孫十郎。官途は遠江守。小野寺氏は奥羽合戦後,出羽国雄勝郡地頭職に補任され,やがて京都扶持衆などを経て輝道の代天正10(1582)年ごろまでには雄勝郡を中心に勢力を有する戦国大名に成長。義道の代にも最上,戸沢,秋田各氏と対立が続いた。奥羽仕置の際には領内で反対する仙北一揆が起こり,そのため天正19年所領の3分の1が没収され,上浦郡に3万1600石を給された。慶長5(1600)年関ケ原,出羽合戦では上杉景勝に味方して最上氏と対峙したが,秋田,六郷両氏に攻められ降伏。寛永6(1629)年領地を没収され,石見国津和野城主坂崎出羽守成正に預けられ,のち亀井豊前守に預けられた。<参考文献>深沢多市『小野寺盛衰記』,遠藤巌「戦国大名小野寺氏」(『秋大史学』34号)
