Hakuta [town] - Hakuta
A former town in Nogi County, eastern Shimane Prefecture. The main settlement is Mori along the Hakuta River. In the early modern period, Mori Jinya was located there. It is close to Yasugi City and is part of its commercial area. It produces rice, tea, and Nijisseiki pears, and also raises dairy cows. In October 2004, it merged with Yasugi City and Hirose Town, Nogi County, to form Yasugi City. 95.87 km2 . 5,576 people (2003).
