Hakuta [town] - Hakuta
A former town in Nogi County, eastern Shimane Prefecture. The main settlement is Mori along the Hakuta River. In the early modern period, Mori Jinya was located there. It is close to Yasugi City and is part of its commercial area. It produces rice, tea, and Nijisseiki pears, and also raises dairy cows. In October 2004, it merged with Yasugi City and Hirose Town, Nogi County, to form Yasugi City. 95.87 km2 . 5,576 people (2003).

島根県東部，能義(のぎ)郡の旧町。主集落は伯太川沿いの母里(もり)。近世母里陣屋があった。安来(やすぎ)市に近く，その商圏に属する。米，茶，二十世紀ナシを産し，乳牛飼育も行う。2004年10月安来市，能義郡広瀬町と合併し，安来市となる。95.87km2。5576人（2003）。
