…In 1828, Anton Philipp Reclam (1807-96), who founded the Reclam Publishing House in Leipzig, Germany, joined forces with his son Hans Heinrich R. (1840-1920) to launch a famous library in 1867. Its original name was the Universal Bibliothek, but in Japan it is generally called the Reclams Bibliothek, named after the publisher.
