A former town in Ogi County, central Saga Prefecture. Occupying reclaimed land from the Middle Ages facing the Ariake Sea, it is dotted with farming and fishing villages, and is a thriving rice and seaweed farming town. In March 2005, it merged with Ogi Town, Mikazuki Town, and Ushizu Town in Ogi County to become a city, Ogi City. 16.67 km2 . 6,427 people (2003).
