Its total area is 361 acres (146 ha), but it is a large park of over 600 acres (243 ha) that is connected to Kensington Gardens (the gardens of Kensington Palace, which includes a memorial to Prince Albert) on the west side, separated by a long, curved pond called the Serpentine.
