Svayaṃbhū (English spelling)

Brahma is said to have emerged from the lotus (world lotus) that grew from Vishnu's navel. He is called the "grandfather" of mankind (Pitāmaha) or the "self-born" (Svayaṃbhū). As a creator god, he did not act on his own to save people, and was not the object of fanatical worship by the people, unlike Shiva and Vishnu.
