…Razi (Latin name Razes) was born in Rey, Iran, and became head of hospitals there and in Baghdad, where he was celebrated as the greatest physician of his generation. His book, Kitāb al-Manṣūrī, dedicated to Mansur of the Samanid dynasty, became a classic Arabic medical book, and its Latin translation spread to Europe.
