Cobalt is combined with arsenic to form cobaltite (Co,Fe)AsS and skutterudite (also called scobaltite) (Co,Ni)As 3 in silver-cobalt veins (Norway, Sweden, Germany, Canada, etc.). Cobaltite is a mineral that may be pyrite FeS 2 in which the Fe has been replaced by Co and one of the S 2 has been replaced by As.
