...The kingdom's heyday was during the reign of King Roberto in the early 14th century. In the second half of the 14th century, the kingdom's power temporarily declined due to a struggle for the throne, but under King Ladislao d'Angio (reigned 1386-1414), the kingdom expanded its territory and invaded the Papal States to the north. After his death, the Kingdom of Naples' politics fell into turmoil again, and it was conquered by King Alfonso V of Aragon (1442).
