Sidereal day

Japanese: 恒星日 - こうせいじつ（英語表記）sidereal day

The time from the vernal equinox to its highest point in the sky, or the number of days counted from the vernal equinox's highest point in the sky. Because the Sun moves forward along the ecliptic, it is slightly shorter than the mean solar day, at 23 hours, 56 minutes, and 4.09 seconds. Strictly speaking, because the vernal equinox moves backward, it is 0.009 seconds shorter than one rotation of the Earth on its axis relative to the sidereal sky.
