...From the standpoint of seeing the basis of legal phenomena in legal experience as an "ethical emotion" with an "imperative and attributive" character, he asserted the existence of a broader "intuitive law" outside of positive law (official law), and explained legal policy from the perspective that this living "intuitive law" acts peacefully and revolutionarily to dismantle and reorganize fixed positive law. His theory has influenced the sociology of law in the United States and Poland through Gurbich, Sorokin, and Nicholas S. Timasheff (1886-1970).
