An evergreen tall tree of the Annonaceae family. It is found in India and Southeast Asia, and can reach a height of 40m. The leaves are alternate and oblong. The flowers are yellow-green and give off a strong fragrance. They are used as fragrances in various places, and the expensive ylang-ylang perfume that became popular in Europe from the late 19th century was made by distilling the flowers. They are also used as a raw material for Makassar oil, which is used in cooking. They are also used as roadside trees. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
