Spun yarn

…A general term for spun yarn, made by twisting together relatively short fibers such as cotton and wool, and filament yarn, made by bundling and twisting long fibers such as silk and nylon. Examples of fibers that are twisted together include rope, cord, and string, but generally, the term thread refers to the thinnest of all. Long filaments, such as spider silk and fishing line, are also called thread.
