Jonoyama Kofun - Jonoyama Kofun

Japanese: 城ノ山古墳 - じょうのやまこふん
Jonoyama Kofun - Jonoyama Kofun
A circular tumulus located in Hirano, Wadayama-cho, Asago-gun, Hyogo Prefecture. Excavations were carried out in 1971. It is located at the tip of a hill overlooking the Maruyama River, and measures 36m east to west, 30m north to south, and 5m high. There are no haniwa statues. Regarding roofing stones, a group of gravel was found on the mound, but their existence has not yet been confirmed. A burial facility was excavated from the top of the tumulus, containing a 6.4m-long wooden coffin buried east to west. The coffin was likely made of Japanese cedar. The head of the deceased was facing east, and all of the grave goods were excavated from inside the coffin.
