A general term for animals belonging to the genus Lagorchestes (rabbit-wallaby), genus Petrogale (rock-wallaby), genus Onychogalea ( paddy-wallaby), genus Thylogale (paddy-wallaby), genus Protemnodon (wallaby), etc. There are about 35 species, but in the narrow sense it refers to about 10 species belonging to the genus Wallaby.
