Mining and manufacturing

A general term for mining and manufacturing. Of the three industries directly involved in the production of goods - agriculture, forestry and fisheries, mining, construction and manufacturing - the latter three are considered to represent industrial activity, and so they are collectively referred to as mining and manufacturing. By industry, manufacturing accounts for the majority. Important economic indicators such as the mining and manufacturing production index are compiled. 鉱業と工業の総称。直接物財の生産に当たる農林水産業と鉱業，建設業および製造業（工業）のうち，特に後３者を産業活動を代表するものとして重視し，一括して鉱工業と呼ぶようになった。業種別では製造業がその大部分を占める。鉱工業生産指数など重要な経済指標が作成される。
