The Transcaucasia consists of the three republics of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. The name Caucasus is thought to have originated from Kazkaz, the Hittite name for the people living on the southern shore of the Black Sea. The name first appears in Aeschylus's Prometheus Bound (5th century BC). …
