A public servant as defined by the Foreign Service Officers Act. This includes ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiaries, special envoys, government representatives, plenipotentiaries, and their deputies, advisors, and attendants. Their ranks, salaries, appointments, and dismissals are treated as exceptions to the National Public Service Act. 〘名〙 外務公務員法に規定する公務員。特命全権大使、特派大使、政府代表、全権委員などとそれらの代理、顧問、随員など。その職階制、給与、任免などは国家公務員法の特例とされる。
