Inhibiting hormone

...Some hormones, whose structures have not yet been elucidated, are called hormone-releasing factors (RFs). In contrast to these releasing hormones or releasing factors, there are also hormones that inhibit the release of hormones, i.e., hormone-releasing-inhibiting hormones (IHs), such as prolactin-releasing hormone (PIH) and growth hormone-releasing hormone (somatostatin).
[Posterior lobe and posterior lobe hormones]
The posterior lobe of the neurohypophysis produces two hormones, oxytocin (OT) and vasopressin (VP), but these hormones are not synthesized or secreted in the posterior lobe.
