Two Tombs of Southern Tang Dynasty - Nantouniryo (English spelling)
These tombs refer to the Qinling tomb of Li Xi (888-943), the founder of the Southern Tang dynasty of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period in China, and the Shunling tomb of the second emperor, Li Jing (916-961). They are circular tombs built on the ridge at the southern foot of Mt. Takayama in Dongshan Town, Jiangning County, Jiangsu Province, on the southern outskirts of Nanjing. They were excavated by the Nanjing Museum in 1950-51. Both tombs consist of a gate, an anterior chamber, a middle chamber, and a posterior chamber. The Qinling chamber is 21.48m long and 10.45m wide at its widest point. The front and middle chambers are built of bricks and have domed ceilings, and there are side chambers on either side for storing Ming utensils.
