Kiso River Shipping

...A river that originates from Mount Hachimori (2,446m) in Nagano Prefecture, in the southern part of the Hida Mountains, flows in a roughly southwesterly direction and empties into Ise Bay. It has a drainage area of 9,100 km2, a main river length of 227 km, and large tributaries such as the Otaki River, Tsukechi River, and Hida River flow into the right bank of the main river. In the upper reaches, it creates gorges such as the Nezame-no-toko, Ena Gorge, and Nihon-Rhine, and in the lower reaches, it forms the Nobi Plain, which consists of alluvial fans and deltas. The Nobi Plain has a topography that is high in the east and low in the west, and in the Seino region, where the three rivers of Kiso, Nagara, and Ibi converge, there are many Wajiyu settlements that have levees around residential areas and cultivated land to prevent flood damage.
