An art movement advocated by L. Fontana that developed mainly in Milan after World War II. It is also called Spatialismo. It abandoned traditional views of art and actively adopted the technology of industrial society, while trying to express a four-dimensional space that blends time and space through the sum of sound, movement, and color. Fontana published the "White Manifesto" on the expression of four-dimensional space in Buenos Aires in 1946. In 1947, he returned to Milan and published the first Spatial Manifesto, and R. Crippa, C. Pevelec, G. Dova and others responded to this and the Spatialist movement was officially launched. Since then, he has been involved in activities that became the prototype of environmental art. In particular, the "Black Environment" exhibition at the Naviglio Gallery in 1949 is famous. Fontana's works, which were presented under the general term "Concepts of Space," in which pebbles and glass are attached to canvases or cracked with a knife are well known.
