Hinahina

...The leaves are hard, sharply pointed, and covered with soft silvery hairs. The English name "ginkensou" (silver sword grass) is based on the shape of the leaves, and the local name is "hinahina." About 20 years after sprouting, a huge flower stalk that reaches a height of 2m grows from the center of the plant, and the entire flower stalk becomes cylindrical with numerous yellowish-brown flower heads, creating a spectacular sight.
