Mitake
A mountain in the western part of Ome City, Tokyo. It is 929m above sea level. It is also called Mt. Mitake or Bushu Mitake. It is said that Gyoki enshrined Zao Gongen there, and Mitake Shrine on the summit was rebuilt by Tokugawa Ieyasu as a shrine to protect Edo Castle, and the Mitake Ko, a religious association run by Edo townspeople, was very popular. There is a bus that runs from Mitake Station on the Ome Line to Takimoto, and a cable car runs from there. A recreational spot in the eastern part of Chichibu Tama Kai National Park.

東京都青梅(おうめ)市西部の山。標高929m。御岳山,武州御岳とも。行基が蔵王権現を勧請したと伝え,山頂の御岳神社は徳川家康が江戸城鎮護の社として再建,江戸町人による御岳講が盛んであった。青梅線御岳駅から滝本までバスが通じ,ここからケーブルカーがある。秩父多摩甲斐国立公園東部の行楽地。
