A popular movement to regulate the body and mind and to maintain and improve health through sports and physical activity. The original meaning of trim is a Norwegian word meaning to keep a boat balanced. It has since come to mean restoring balance to the body and mind of modern people. It was proposed by Pau Mor of Norway in 1967 and started by the Norwegian Sports Federation. The following year, 1968, the Nordic countries implemented it, and in 1970, West Germany took up the movement, and it has since spread to other European countries and the world. In 1973, the first Trim International Conference was held in Frankfurt. In West Germany, the message was "Trim yourself through sports" with the aim of practicing sports and physical activity voluntarily in daily life and leading a healthy and bright life, and physical activity was encouraged to be done easily and freely by anyone, anywhere, anytime. It does not aim to train top athletes, but recognizes the significance of actively engaging in physical activity in daily life.
