Morning sleepover - Asanebou Muraku
1777‐1831 (Anei 6‐Tenpo 2)
Rakugo performer. The father of human interest stories. Commonly known as Satomi Shinbei. Born in Hitokuchizaka, Azabu, he worked as a pawnbroker before becoming a disciple of Toyotake Miya Todayu and becoming a Joruri storyteller called Toshidayu. In 1803 (Kyowa 3), he became a disciple of the first Sanshotei Karaku, and changed his name from Ryuzokutei Kyucho to Sanshotei Muraku. He gained popularity with his original human interest stories, but he changed his name to Yumeraku without permission, which led to a rift with his master, and he took the name Asanebo. Later, he became a disciple of Utei Enba, and called himself Shogoro Yumeraku. [Okitsu Kaname]
