…It is a legend strongly influenced by Christianity that emerged in Europe at the end of the 12th century, but there are various theories about its origin, with the most popular being that it originated from a Celtic legend. The first work to deal with the Holy Grail (or Grail in English) was Perceval, or the Story of the Holy Grail (c. 1185) by the French poet Chrétien de Troyes. It all began with the protagonist's failure to voice a question he had in his mind about the mysterious procession he saw at the Fisher King's castle, the blood-dripping spear, and the shining Holy Grail. …
