Geōrgios (English spelling)

…In Alexandria, there were two theories, Panodoros's 5493 BC and Annanos's 5492 BC, but the church fathers Hippolytus and Clement adopted the former and set the date of creation as March 25, 5493 BC (later, in the 7th century, this was changed to the Byzantine date of 5508 BC). The Byzantine date was 5509 BC, but later, in 630, Georgios changed it to 5508 BC (the beginning of the year was September 1) to match the Indictio (see below). In addition, the Nestorians date it to 5491 BC, and the Georgian Church to 5604 BC. …
