Izumoji Temple
[1] A temple located in Izumoji , Otagi County, Yamashiro Province (Kamigyo Ward and Kita Ward, Kyoto City). It consists of two temples, Kami and Shimo (Izumo-ji). It is said that Dengyo Daishi (Saicho) built a hermitage here more than 200 years after the temple was founded. [2] Another name for the Jodo sect temple, Nenbutsu-ji, located in Yabunoshi-cho, Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto City. The mountain name is Komyo-ji. After Kamiizumoji was abolished, the principal image was moved here in 1872 ( Meiji 5 ). Izumo Kannon.

[一] 山城国愛宕(おたぎ)郡出雲路(京都市上京区・北区)にあった寺。上、下(出雲寺)の二寺から成る。建立より二百余年後、伝教大師(最澄)が草庵を構えたという。[二] 京都市上京区藪ノ下町にある浄土宗の寺、念仏寺の別称。山号は光明寺。上出雲寺の廃絶後、明治五年(一八七二)本尊を移した。出雲観音。
