A town in Oura County in the southeastern part of Gunma Prefecture, occupying a low, flat alluvial plateau on the left bank of the midstream Tone River. Koizumi, in the center, developed as a castle town and market town, and along with Ota City, was a military industrial area during World War II. The Tobu Koizumi Line runs through the town. There are electrical and automobile factories, and Koizumi ware, such as flower pots and roofing tiles, is a specialty of the town. 群馬県南東部,利根川中流左岸の低平な洪積台地を占める邑楽(おうら)郡の町。中心の小泉は城下町,市場町として発達,第2次世界大戦中は太田市とともに軍需工業地帯であった。東武小泉線が通じる。電機,自動車の工場があり,植木鉢や瓦などの小泉焼を特産。東日本大震災で,町内において被害が発生。18.03km2。4万257人(2010)。
